Christine Jennings Statement on the Dedication of Sarasota VA National Cemetery

SARASOTA, FL – Jun. 1, 2008 – Christine Jennings, Democratic candidate for Congress, Florida’s 13^th Congressional district, issued the following statement on today’s dedication ceremony of the Sarasota VA National Cemetery:

"We can never fully thank or totally repay the sacrifice that our veterans and their families have made for our country, but today's groundbreaking and dedication of the Sarasota VA National Cemetery shows our commitment to care for the brave men and women who have served our nation with courage and honor,” said Jennings.

"As the daughter of a disabled WWII veteran, I believe that one of our most significant responsibilities is to take care of our troops and veterans. Providing health care, educational assistance, such as Senator Webb’s GI Bill, pensions and proper burial places for our veterans must always remain a top priority."
